Instant In-Browser BPM Detection
Full Partituras Studio Online BPM Detector measures the exact tempo (beats per minute) of any song or audio file directly in your browser. Audio analysis runs locally through the Web Audio API without server upload queues, delivering private and immediate tempo detection.
The Multi-Band DSP Detection Pipeline
The client-side tempo estimation engine uses a specialized multi-stage audio processing pipeline:
- Dual-Band IIR Butterworth Filtering: The audio signal is filtered using 2nd-order Direct Form II IIR filters into a sub-bass band (220 Hz low-pass for kick drums and 808s) and a mid-percussion band (1200 Hz band-pass for snares and acoustic slaps).
- Weber-Fechner Logarithmic Energy Compression: Short-term RMS energy envelopes are compressed logarithmically to emulate human psychoacoustic loudness perception.
- Autocorrelation & Multi-Harmonic Resonant Comb Filter: The combined onset strength signal is autocorrelated across lag frames and evaluated through a multi-harmonic resonant comb filter across the 52–210 BPM range.
- Dynamic Beat Alignment: Candidate tempos are scored against dynamic downbeat phase grids to verify metric consistency.
Interactive Tap Tempo
Tap along manually to any rhythm or live acoustic performance. The tap engine tracks consecutive tap intervals and calculates a rolling running average for accurate real-time tempo measurement.
How to detect BPM of any song online
- Upload your MP3 or audio file into the BPM Detector tool.
- Wait a few seconds for the audio engine to calculate beats per minute.
- Or use the interactive Tap Tempo button to manually tap along with any song.
