How Stem Separation Works

Stem separation decomposes a finished stereo mix into its individual multi-track components. Full Partituras Studio Stem Separator utilizes Meta AI's open-source Demucs architecture—a hybrid time-domain and frequency-domain deep neural network trained on isolated multi-tracks to distinguish overlapping acoustic sources in dense mixes.

6-Stem Source Extraction

Unlike standard 2-stem tools, our full separation mode isolates up to 6 distinct stems:

• Vocals: Clean lead vocals and harmonies isolated from instrumental backing.
• Drums: Full percussive track including kick, snare, toms, and cymbals.
• Bass: Isolated bass guitar and sub-bass synthesizers for bass transcribers.
• Guitar: Electric and acoustic guitar layers separated from keys and synths.
• Piano: Acoustic piano and electric keyboard tracks.
• Other: Remaining synths, brass, strings, and ambient effects.

Privacy & Temporary Storage

Uploaded audio is processed on our server and deleted automatically within an hour. The separated stems stay available for download during that time, so download them right away. During the beta, files can be up to 30 MB and songs up to 5 minutes long, and when there is a queue songs are processed one at a time.
