Privacy: your audio, the microphone and what your browser stores

This page complements the Full Partituras privacy policy, which also applies to the Studio and whose data controller is VIP MARKETING AGENCY LLC. Here we explain what is specific to the Studio: what happens to the audio you upload, to the microphone and to what is stored in your browser.

The audio you upload

Chord AI, the vocal remover, the stem splitter and the song key finder send the audio to our server, the same one that runs Full Partituras. No outside service processes your audio, and we never share it with anyone.

Each job is stored in a folder with a random name, and we don't store the name of your file. Our logs only keep the job ID, the mode and the duration.

The original and the intermediate files are deleted as soon as processing ends. The tracks we create (the vocals, the instrumental or the 6 stems) can be downloaded for one hour; after that, downloads are refused and an automatic clean-up deletes them. A second clean-up removes anything left after 90 minutes.

If the analysis creates no files, as with Chord AI without the vocal filter or the song key finder, nothing is left on the server. Only upload audio you have the right to use.

What runs only in your browser

The BPM detector, the tuner, the metronome, the fretboard, the guitar chords and their chord pages, the scales, the ragas, the chords in a key, the interval game, the backing tracks and the MIDI progressions run in your browser: they upload nothing to our server.

The microphone

The tuner analyzes the sound from your microphone in your browser: it records nothing and sends nothing anywhere.

The live mode of Chord AI, which shows the chord while the song plays, does send the sound from your microphone to our server, in very short chunks and over a secure connection. It is analyzed in memory, never stored, and each session lasts 30 minutes at most.

Your browser asks for permission before using the microphone, and only this site can ask for it.

Cookies and browser storage

This is what the Studio uses or stores in your browser. You can delete it whenever you like in your browser settings; there is more about cookies in the Full Partituras privacy policy.

  • Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4, with the same property as Full Partituras, to learn how the tools are used: for example, which chord is looked up, which tempo is set on the metronome or how long a separation takes. It sets the Google Analytics cookies. There are no ads in the Studio.
  • A copy of the audio: Chord AI and the song key finder keep a copy of the audio in your browser's cache so you don't have to upload it again if you repeat the analysis. It doesn't expire on its own: it is removed with the trash button of the Chord AI history or when you clear the site data.
  • Results and history: analysis results are kept for 24 hours, and the history with your last 20 analyses stays until you clear it (IndexedDB).
  • Preferences: the theme, the instrument of the diagrams, the fretboard tuning, the chosen scale and other settings, and whether you have closed the prompt to install the app (localStorage).
  • Session: how many analyses you have run during this visit and whether we have already asked for your feedback (sessionStorage).
  • App: a service worker stores the app's files so it loads faster and can be installed.
  • Notifications: only if you allow them, your browser tells you when a separation is finished.

If you send us feedback

The feedback form sends Full Partituras what you write, the face you pick, your email (only if you enter it), the language and the address of the page, without parameters. Google Analytics only records that feedback was sent and which face was picked, never the text.
